Whether you’re starting out or already in senior management, our range of membership means that there is a level to suit everyone.
Grades are awarded on a combination of experience and qualifications. The letters after your name demonstrate where you are in your career. And, as you progress, you can apply for a membership upgrade to ensure your level always reflects your current position.

Affiliate Professional CIM members are those who are actively engaged in, considering a career in, or have an active interest in marketing.
Associate Grade CIM members must have qualifications in marketing that meet required CIM criteria.
Member Grade CIM members must have marketing qualifications and practical experience that meet required CIM criteria.
Fellow Grade CIM members must hold senior marketing positions and meet required CIM criteria.
A Chartered Marketer is a professional member with outstanding practical experience and expertise, committed to continuing professional development.

a) Senior Management Entry: For Kenyan Professionals with senior marketing experience but no formal qualifications see our Senior Management Entry (SME) application form.
b) Upgrade Your Membership: If you are already an Affiliate, ACIM or MCIM and would like to upgrade your membership, log in “MY CIM ACCOUNT” to download an upgrade form. An external assessor will review your application and determine your grade.
